Good morning, I refer to isolated microgrids e.g rural power systems. In these off-grid systems chances are that the starting of loads involving great in-rush currents can create power unbalances. Currently there are many applications e.g solar pumping or renevable powered reverse osmosis which incorporate inverters to drive said loads to minimise these undesirable effects by progressively start and operate them to limit the in-rush current . Still in certain areas other loads e.g dwell pumps may start in direct on line mode. Moreover inverters can create harmonics affecting the isolated grid specially in those case where costs constraint avoid the use of Low Harmonics inverters.

I would request you some advice on these issues and to recommend some related technical papers , thanks in advance.
