I'm trying to simulate the surface wave (impact load ) by using ABAQUS program. could you please assist me to do so?

thanks for your replay ....in fact I'd like to simulate impact load on the pavement surface, so this load will introduce a surface wave which it is type of seismic wave
Impact load can also defined by a mass colliding with the surface. In the predefined fields option in ABAQUS software.
1- Define the surface you need to work out, assign it's property.
2-Define part two for colliding and assign it's property
(While assigning property you should not give both elastic, hyper elastic etc.. it will show error in abaqus. choose one among them)
3- assemble the parts.
4-Define contact as hard on touching areas of both parts.
5- Give boundary conditions carefully. Do not arrest the degree of freedom of all areas, do not restrict the degree of freedom on the direction of colliding.
6-Better to go for fine mesh.(to avoid distortion element errors and warnings)
