I am trying to install Plink/Seq on linux elementary freya. Does anyone know if there are any pre-required packages to be installed before plink/seq?.

Thanks Peter. I already checked all that before asking the question. The thing is that I just don't get any error message but also I get nothing when typing "pseq help" for example.
I knew from a friend that he needed to install something before plinkseq starts to function correctly on his machine "he didn't remember exactly what" but we tried "PERL" without being successful. About R: they don't have also a compatible package with the last version right now. My system is elementary OS freya and it should be binary compatible.

You are of course right that there is nothing called "nothing" but I said it in regards of the outcome not the message that I got ..... never the less your diagnose of the problem definitely helped me to get into it (I am very new to Linux) .... Apparently I was in the right folder and executing the right file and everything was correct but just not working so I decided to write the full path to the file before it and it worked .... then I searched for a way to shorten that and apparently I should always write ./ before the executed file even if I am in the very right folder .... I know this was simple for a lot of you but it is very new to a linux user :) .... Thanks again
