The precious animal genetic resources for food and agriculture are under threat. The situation is rather more worsen in the developing countries. There are many reason for this erosion, all are man-made. Land grabbing, faulty policies, political backing for cross breeding and introduction of factory breeds are the major reasons. Community based utilization and conservation of AnGR might be the best option to conserve this precious genetic resources.

Animal genetic resources of the dry lands are very important because of many reasons, i.e. climate change adaptation, disease resistance, low input for its rearing and drought tolerance etc. Lets join our efforts to save such treasures of genetic resources.
