I will be working in a zoological park in Belgium and in this context I would like to study the behaviour of a couple of gibbons in interaction with an enrichment (especially for water intake). The scanning method seems to me to be the most relevant year but how to interpret the data knowing that I will not have a control group without enrichment.

Will you have a before/after enrichment situations? This way the group can be its own control.

Ultimately, yes, I could make a comparison before/after enrichment so that the couple can be their own control, but from how many study/observation times before and after the addition of enrichment, we can consider the results significants ?
