When analysing 5-point Likert scale data using bar graphs, the graphs typically contain frequencies for each option. When I describe these graphs in text, do I repeat frequency numbers or only use percentages instead?
Example: a bar chart showing that 30 participants chose Agree about a certain item. When illustrating in text, do I use a percentage, say 60%, of the sample chose Agree or repeat the number shown in the bar chart?
P.S. I use APA, 7th edition, as a document formatting guide.
