i just want to couple dopamine with ferrocence carboxylic acid.So could any body tell me about the condition of temperature ,solvent and catalyst for a good yield.?
My suggestion is to convert ferrocene carboxylic acid into its chloride derivative by using thionyl chloride SOCl2 (simply: R-COOH → R-CO-Cl).
The acid chloride will react with the amino group in dopamine at room temperature or below favorably over the 2 acidic phenol groups. You do not need heating or catalysis. The use of a mild basic solvent "to scavenge HCl" is the norm when RCOCl is reacted with H2N-R' and the yield of the amide is usually a good one.
React Ferrocence carboxylic acid. with thinyl chloride or PCl5 to form acyl chloride , then stirr acyl chloride with ammonia. to get desired amide of ferrocene carboxylic acid.
