What crucible should I use for thermal evaporation of Alq3? The website it was purchased on doesnt make a recommendation. Also looking for recommendations on the current/voltage to run for a CH-12 RDM crucible heater for Alq3, but this could also be found using trial and error if nobody has any idea.
The ceramic crucible or labelled AlOx type in a supplier website such as KJ Lesker or any company provide thermal evaporation materials. The voltage and current used for the starting evaporation very much depends on what equipment you use. My suggestion is to slowly increase power to observe any reading on the crystal sensors. The starting evaporation rate could be as low as 0.01A/s. Then as increasing power more the rate is increased too. You can determine the evaporation started. To gain an experience in this way, you can control the evaporation parameters easily. Hope it helps.
