Alkyd resin is a cross-linked 3 D network polyester which results from the reaction of phthalic anhydride & glycerol.
Note that this polymer is made in the presence of a pigment together with the monomers in an oven to which a body of a car or a vehicle is placed & then taken out. The body becomes colored totally with the same thickness all over. The first color is usually the best in terms of shining & homogeneity since it is done this way.
Alkyd resin is obtain from the reaction of acid anhydride such as maleic or & multy functional groups such as diol giving un saturated linear poly ester,
or triol such as glycerol with phthalic anhydride produce cross-linked poly ester
Alkyd resins are thermoplastic polyester resins made by heating polyhydric alcohols* with polybasic acids or their anhydrides. painting/alkyd-resin-paint.htmThe use of synthetic alkyd resin for solvent-thinned (oilbase) paints has brought several advantages. One of the most useful is a special formula. | The alkyd resins belong to the family of thermosetting polyesters, organic macromolecules obtained through the reaction between an acid or an anhydride, ...
