Khristian, when their existential survival is threatened by such an unprecedented and widescale pandemic like COVID-19, individuals and organisations need to be both agile as well as resilient. Their agility could be reflected in their ability and capacity to adapt rapidly to the unpredictable and scalar nature of volatile events like the Coronavirus pandemic, climate change, globalisation and so on whereas their resilience can be shown in their propensity to 'bounce back' from such threats. How individuals and organisations develop the requisite competences, the structures, procedures and processes to be able to survive and thrive under turbulent times would ultimately differentiate between those that are agile and resilient and those that may not be. Organizational Agility and Resilience are two critical sides of the same coin, yet resilience is a part of agility. Harraf, et al., (2015), view the notions of innovation, flexibility, responsiveness, adaptability and resilience are at the core of organisational agility.
I would suggest both agility and resilience -- although I generally encourage my students to develop wisdom, courage and compassion as well as critical thinking. Stay well.
