What kind of tips would you like to receive? Links to the web sites, international organisations, information about courses/degree, books which are worth of recommendation...? Also are you interested in pollen or fungal spores? Allergy or plant pathology?
I have just started phd studies and i am focused on allergenic fungal spores in the air, so in this case I can't help you too much. I guess you will need to use portable Burkard trap, or Samplair K1 or any other air sampler for an indoor monitoring.
I believe that you are focusing on the outdoor study in and around Jharia area. The extramural bacteriological study along with monitoring of some important a biological entities such as dust, gases, temperature, humidity etc. and their co-relation if any will yield some good information. The outcome is of applied aspect. Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) is a good overall media for the isolation of environmental bacteria. Anderson Air sampler with TSA can be use for qualitative as well as quantitative estimation of air-borne bacteria. However, the identification of environmental bacteria is little tricky and may requires additional biochemical tests, specialty/selective microbiological media, and other modern techniques such as PCR etc. beside gram staining techniques.
Hi every one.. this is my previlage to introduce separate website for aerobiology to share our research findings on aerobiology including bacterial , fungal, pollen grains and viral dispersion in air.. this website focusing to encourage the young scientist in the the field of aerobiology in all over the world..
so i am inviting you all to join in the aerobiology group and let us inspire
I suggest to visitwww. wao.com and get Manual for sampling airborne allergens whwre varios samplers and techniques are described. The challenge lies in selection of suitable media and identification . Above all depends on the exact objective of the work which is not clear.
