Hello,
These days I often ask various questions in researchgate quite often.
Previously, I asked about the addition of antibiotics(penicillin / streptomycin) in media. I got answers from four thankful RG members.(Cristina Rodriguez, Maike Frye, Jaakko Kangas, Iris Himal) I appreciate them again.
From the answers I received, I could learn that during huvec works, antibiotics only contribute to prevention of contamination and are not related to other functions.
But I want to ask about whether irregular uses of antibiotics can cause troubles in my huvec works. What I mean is that during whole processes of huvec works, if I begin using media without antibiotics suddenly after previous uses of media containing antibiotics and vice versa, which troubles can happen? (I also want to ask about all other cases of irregular uses of antibiotics during whole cell works, including entire huvec works.)
Examples : Use of EGM media containing antibiotics and then starvation of huvecs in EBM media without antibiotics and vice versa.
I think that antibiotics are just antibiotics, but I want to make clear about whether there can be other possible effects of irregular uses of antibiotics in all the cases described above. (I always do my best to keep consistency, though.)
Thank you!
