The acari were found in the nest of feral pigeons (Columba livia domestica) collected in the centre of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The pigeons build their nest in the ceiling of the balcony above the top floor apartment. After that in the apartment were found also the pigeon tick (Argas reflexus). Since then than middle aged lady is regularly bitten (but the rest of the family not), but we cannot find the cause. The ticks were removed (collected), the apparetmend were sprayed with an insecticide.

Can you help me with the determination? Is the species parasitic! Can it bite also a human?
