Recently the algorithm of ResearchGate finds a lot of "articles" that are in fact only conference abstracts. While they were published in special volumes of normal journals, they were never peer-revised and contain only very little scientific information. Quite often what little content there is, was preliminary and has been significantly altered in the real later paper. If such a paper ever has been published at all.
Unfortunatelly, ResearchGate does not provide a category for this type of publication. "Article" is, in my opinion, clearly inappropriate. "Conference paper" might be possible, unless these are understood to mean proceedings. Deleting them entirely from the list would be a possibility, too, even if hurtful for one vanity.
How do you handle this?
