Absorbance of hydrlolysed Nitrocefin substrate by high concentrations of B-lactamase?

Why tha absorbance values of hydrolysed nitrocefin by means of high concentraations of B-lactamase (micromolar scale) reducing by the time when assayed in microplate redaer on 490 nm in contrast to nano molar scale?
