what is the motivation of inverted PIN structure over planner NIP structure in terms of efficiency, stability, low temperature and cost etc? Which is more suitable to make tandem with Silicon solar cell? or both, the NIP and PIN structures can make tandem with Silicon solar cells? Thank you.
I think theoretically speaking both structures can have the same conversion efficiency.Perhaps what makes the difference is the material matching with the conductive transparent oxide and forming ohmic contact with it. In addition, the transparency of the layer to incident solar radiation. In the conventional structure the ETL must be transparent to the incident solar radiation while in the inverted solar cells the HTL must be transparent to the incident solar radiation.
As for the tandem cell with silicon, the layer stack dictates the sequence of the layer. Assuming p-n+ silicon layer with the top layer is the n+ layer, then the pervoskite layer stack must be from the bottom to the top p+ i n+. The n+ -Si layer must form tunnling contact with the hole transport layer of the perovskite p+.

Dear Asmat Ullah , both the structures (n-i-p as well as p-i-n) have their distinct role in device performance; but up to some extent inverted p-i-n structure has better device compatibility and slightly high efficiency and stability.
