I wondering about the possibility of nitrogen isotope fractionation between NH4+ and N2(gas) during jarosite formation.

Is it possible to occur nitrogen fractionation from NH4+ to N2(gas) during jarosite formation under oxidic condition and pH range from 1to2? ; each conditions A (25℃, 1Atm.) and B (90℃ at autogeneous pressure; about 0.7Atm.), respectively.

Because i synthesized NH-4 jarosite under the pH 1-2 conditions.

theoretically, it is not occur nitrogen fractionation between NH4+(aq) and NH3 (aq)+NH3(gas) based on Olofsson G. (1975)

However, nitrogen contents before (starting materials) and after (run products) were different (attached Table1). actually, recovered nitrogen contents by EA analysis decreased. probably, nitrogen loss occurred at any stage.

I want to know when the loss of nitrogen content occur and about their reaction mechanism.
