Abaqus explicit recovery option?

in Pakistan, we have a very frequent power breakdown due to which I am unable to perform long explicit analyses. Can anybody help me with how the recovery option works in Abaqus? I have tried it, but it does not work for me. The submitted option appears in the status, but it does not proceed any further. In addition to this, when the automatic recovery option appears on the screen after I reopen the previously interrupted file, the running status appears but does not proceed any further.
