These days, we are talking a lot on AI. Sometime I feel we over emphasizing the capacity of AI.
My simple opinion is- Abacus, Calculator, Computer are fundamentally same – a computing device with memory. Due to high speed calculating power, a computer can do enormously large amount calculations with in a very short time than Abacus. All of them have no capacity to think anything new. They just used simple schema and logic knowingly designed by a programmer. Indeed, the calculating power of a super computer is just like a magic.
However, the question is, can machine think out of the boundary - the boundary a programmer designed with complete knowledge? How can we define AI?
