CO2-EOR

Whether the wider use of CCS remains inhibited ‘ONLY’

by costs associated with CCS,

where, high costs of CCS projects remains associated with their capital expenditure on setting up transport & storage infrastructure?

During continuous CO2 injection,

(a) whether, the ultimate recovery of reservoir oil remains in direct proportion to the volume of CO2 injected ‘always’?

(b) Can we successfully get rid-off viscous fingering and adverse mobility ratio (channelling), even, if we ensure nitrogen injection following CO2 injection towards enhancing gravity drainage?

In low permeability reservoirs, upon WAG injection (coupled water-flooding and CO2 injection),

how easy to maintain

the velocity of water and CO2 to remain to be the same?

Or

A Tapered WAG with a delayed CO2 breakthrough would serve better? Will it enhance volumetric sweep efficiency?

Will it mitigate CO2 retention?

In the absence of maintaining enhanced oil-production rates,

what is the purpose of enhancing the CO2 injection rates

(and in the absence of detecting injected CO2 movement)?
