I am running an experimental research design.
If I want a run my analyses with only a particular demographic of participants in my sample (e.g. just men).
Should I use the select cases function to only focus on male participants (thus, removing female participants from the analysis), then run my scale reliability test after? Or should scale reliability be tested prior to removing participants from the analysis?

If your target population is men, then it makes sense to estimate and report score reliability from one or more samples from that population, rather than people in general.

David Morse Right so just exclude the population I don't want to focus on, include the population that I want to focus on, then run scale reliability?
Yes the only population that is pertinent to my research and all my analyses are men, so scale reliability should be based on their scores. Makes sense!
