I am trying to detect Hydrogen; for example I want a metal complex that will react with H2 to form a hydride, with an associated colour change in solvent. Otherwise, a colour change associated with an organic molecule reduction, such as double bond reduction which results in breakage of conjugated framework.

There are some test tubes still furnished by dräger. They oxidize the hydrogen (probably after drying) to water which is shown by reaction with SeO2. For high hydrogen concentrations they get hot (glowing).
