First, thank you for an excellent question! Yes, an accountant or financial adviser should take note of blockchain. From my findings, blockchain is serious and it is coming down the pike quickly. An accountant is concerned with looking at assets, liabilities, and equity. Blockchain can help to automate these endeavors. However, blockchain can and will be corrupted just as surely as any medium of exchange has been corrupted, whether cash, or gold, or bartering. In other words, the books can still be cooked, just like keeping two sets of books. One book shows the reality, and the other book is diluted to show favorable numbers as to gain credit or tax advantages This is possible despite the stringent nature of blockchain, someone will find the loopholes.
