how can i get pure compound of HEEP with 99.90% purity from Piperazine+2-Chloro ethoxy ethanol, i am trying product distillation but getting some impurities in small amount i.e 0.5% and getting on related impurity HEP(hydroxy Ethyl piperazine), please help me by providing process /article about HEEP?
If you can provide the structures it will be easier, the chemical names you provide are not standard names it is not easy to understand the reaction. How do you know you have impuritiy of 0.5%? A compound of 99.5% purity is better than what most suppliers provide
You can try to recrystallize a salt form of the piperazine. I don't know offhand which salts are most suitable, so you would have to experiment with different acids and solvents. The usual routine for medicinal chemists is to dissolve the amine in ether or isopropanol, and add various acids, to see which ones give good, non-hygroscopic crystals. You might want to check the patent literature, and Beilstein, to see if somebody has done the work for you.
With a diamine, there's the added complication of mono- and di-protonated salt forms, so you might want to try one equivalent of acid as well as an excess. (Twice the work, but also double the odds of finding a suitable salt.)
You can go for salt purification technique. Make salt of your compound in organic solvent if solid comes filter. Solubility of ur compound and impurity will be different but you have to chose acid and organic solvent.
While preparing the said compound 4-hydroxyethoxy Ethyl Piperazine by your procedure you are likely to get 1,4-disubstituted product also as an impurity.
99.5% Purity is enough for commercial and R&D Purpose. If you want to more pure compound double distillation may be effective.
