Why I have less plasmid after the digestion with SmaI?

I'm performing a digestion with SmaI but when I concentrate the digested DNA with a Zymo Kit I obtain half of the inicial DNA. I'm working at 30°C like the insert says.

What's the pH recommended for the CaCl2 solution for bacterial transformation?

I can't find at what pH I have to adjust the CaCl2 solution. In my notes it's necessary 8.0 but i'm not sure
