How do you stain frozen muscle sections with p16 or p21?

I need to stain frozen sections with 2 different stains (p16 and p21) which has been done in the past on FFPE blocks. Any advice or updated protocol will be much appreciated.

What thickness do you cut mouse brain slices on a microtome and what blade is preferred?

At present I am: cutting at 5um using ice bath to chill the block using Leica blades
