Can anyone share a working protocol for isolation of good quality total RNA from conifer species?

In particular, my target is Taxus spp. So far, i have tried Sigma kit as well as TriReagent Methods but unsuccessful. Have seen some literature also but the protocols there seemed a bit complicated.
