What is the best way to find weather the steel bars in top or bottom layers (or in case of slab in both ways) are reached at yield limit or not at the time of completion while using the damage plasticity model for concrete.

I think you can apply the load as a controlled displacement and for each displacement you can check the steel strain and compare it with the yielding strain of steel.
