I assume that higher polymer density makes its fracture stress higher in charged hydrogels like PVA/CMC and PAAm/PAMPS (not DN gel but copolymer) whose polymer density vs. water can be controlled by manipulating their copolymer ratio.
Do you agree with me?
I am looking for a reference on it, so if you can, please suggest me the reference with your answer.

Dear Kasumi Sonoya, I don't know if you are dealing with gels with chemicals or physical crosslinks. I assume it is the first one. Density goes up with increasing crosslink density. This will reduce the internal free volume inducing britlness since the mibility (which help chains to transmit stress and relax) of chains is reduced. With same reasoning, swelling goes down with increasing xlink density. A very nice contribution to similar question was given by @Prof. Ishida within RG I will send it. My Regards
