Hi, The project is slowly inching forward. I'm currently at 1030 rules, laws, hypotheses and theories (RLHTs inc. synonyms). I believe it is safe to assume that ecologists refer to approximately 1300 RLHTs. 

I'm currently refining the table of contents. By end of February I will have a TOC and then we can get down to selecting coauthors for each of the sections and a publisher.

I've compiled closed to 1200 pages of single spaced notes for the coauthors to work with.

I would suggest to do this in a open source book, stored in github... easy to gather people to contribute, keep version control of the work, easy to share and integrate between different plataforms.

My contribution could be on spatial models as I have published on regression, machine-learning and Bayesian models across plant and animal species (populations) as well as (forest) ecosystems.

The "niche" concept has also my interest, as testified by my various answers at this RG Q&A.

Thirdly, I observe that many scientist miss the concept of nested spatial hierarchy in their research design. You may find some of my conceptual considerations also in this Q&A. 

Finally, the island theory seems worth dealing with in your endeavour; see attached.

I spoke with Dr. Guy Larocque last week and he figured that he could line up a publisher; thus, need to finalize the table of contents within the next 6 to 8 weeks and line up authors for the chapters before the end of July/August, 2016.
