Assumed premises:
Across virtually the entire territory of a UNESCO Global Geopark located in Spain, a multitude of wind farms and photovoltaic plants are being planned and installed in a disorderly manner, along with their corresponding auxiliary facilities and easements, which also coexist with enormous open-pit mining operations.
A large number of them are causing serious damage to the landscape, heritage and geological resources, flora, fauna, history...
There are numerous organisations and individuals who oppose this disorderly landing with serious and scientifically justified arguments. In several cases, the projects are being challenged in court.
My question is as follows:
In a hypothetical case such as the one described above, if both the management body and the scientific committee of the Geopark remained impassive, would it be justified to request its expulsion as a UNESCO Global Geopark?
I really appreciate your interest. Thank you very much!
