I am going to be doing an action research with my FSL students who are taking my science classes. I would like to know if Flipped Classroom or Hybrid Classroom models would improve their comprehension, seeing as they're learning science in their second language (French).

There’s a chapter on the flipped classroom in Marshall and DeCapua’s “Making the transition: Culturally responsive teaching for struggling language learners” (2013: University of Michigan Press). I have also found two Word documents on the Internet from Washington State University. The documents do not identify an author (they may in fact be graduate student papers, but they are good, and the reference list could be quite useful). Unfortunately, I can’t find the urls, so I can only give you the titles, but if you google the exact titles, you should find them. The first one is entitled "To flip or not to flip? That's not the question: Exploring flipped instruction in technology supported language learning environments", and the second is "Flipped Instruction in ESL Teacher Education: A Design-based Study of a Complex, Open-ended Learning Environment".

Thank you, these are all great ideas of places to start. I am able to find quite a few about using Flipped Classroom in Science and in Math, but not any from the language strugglers point of view.
