Robert, Thank you for your answer, which I found interesting. I learned about computer programming as a grad student, and programmed  in Fortran, assembly and machine language, then much later learned some AI language programming for familiarity, I am familiar with Gödel's incompleteness theorems, and their fundamental correspondence to Turing's halting problem, and Chaitin's rationalization of both (in Meta Math); I delight in the self-similarity of fractal geometry, and value the development on nonlinear dynamics as a wonderful model for demonstrating the basic unpredictability of real world phenomena given practical limitations of initializing the variables with sufficiently accurate input data. My dissertation was about conceptual vagueness, and there is even now available a commercial Vagueness Dictionary to implement it for automated content analysis ( https://provalisresearch.com/products/content-analysis-software/wordstat-dictionary/communication-vagueness-dictionary/ ) .

Playfully approached, it strikes me that the Attention is by ordinary definition incorporated in the concept of Perception, because perception would not manifest without the mind first attending to it-- i.e., perception means to be receiving the input with awareness of it, and for humans, to be actively interpreting such as a function of memory of "similar" input ( see my note  on dimensional perception following the Frozen Time Theory paper at https://www.nderf.org/NDERF/Articles/frozen_time.htm  ). Consciousness, as a bare concept, is about awareness of being, without any particular perception implicated; e.g., Descartes' "I think, therefore I am," comes to mind.

I think you are absolutely right.

What you call vagueness in communication I call "imbalance" caused when novel information hits instable belief structures. Disbalance occurs when misunderstandings and false assumptions manifest themselves. In other words, falsely constructed realities collapse under pressure. Life is the constant restructuring and adaptation process to a constantly changing environment.

Consciousness consists of structures and processes in which value exchange happens. It manifests itself through thinking, feeling- and acting, which is basically the transformation of information into emotion and energy.

Descartes is right. Thinking = Being. However, there are different levels and 3 different modes of being.

Only if thinking, feeling and acting are fully integrated with each other, we have the full human experience, best conditions for learning and growth, best information flow, and the only conditions for error free information exchange. If feeling and acting are not integrated with thinking, we are either an animal or a vegetable.

Determinism versus free will is a problem in theories of mind. Superstring theory might give you a material base that has a random component which would then allow for free will.
