The Environmental Changes Brought about by Climate Change have been Subtle, yet discernible. Global Warming, Glaciers Melting , Oceans Rising are all a compelling Evidence of what Man Engineered Climate Change has Resulted In. Nature has been benign , She(It) is several Million/ Billion times older than Man himself. However, whenever Man has Infringed Her Domain in his own Mischievous Way, She has Revolted. Tsunamis, Earthquakes of exceptional magnitudes , took place in our life time. The Average Temperature of the Planet Earth has arisen by two degrees Celsius; anything above 1.5 degrees is unacceptable. Several notable cities recorded their highest temperatures in recorded history. There have been Warnings but Climate Change Deniers have refused to pay heed. Now the Grim Reaper is Harvesting. I think the climate and its change must have a major impact on the spread of this disease
This planet does not care if we are here or not. When we make the environment inhospitable to ourselves, the Earth just keeps turning. As for the pandemic, that is something else for which we have failed to prepare, but I don't see how these two problems are related in their origins. If someone can think of something, that would be interesting. I do see a relationship in that if the pandemic slows down air travel in the future and perhaps otherwise results in more efficiency that cuts down on pollution and on greenhouse gases, then that could be of some benefit. (By the way, I too might want to travel, and it has its benefits, but we need to be smarter about it, both for the environment and regarding the spread of pandemics. Well, travel then could be a common origin of these problems, come to think if it, but travel is not basically bad. In fact, when it builds bonds and understanding around the world, it's very good. We just need to approach it more carefully.)
But I do not see how earthquakes have anything to do with pandemics or climate change or pollution.
Stronger tsunamis likely relate in part to climate change.

Just a quick response. To me this question is a moral one, not so much a scientific question. At least this applies to the part on nature claiming back what is (supposedly) hers. My perspective on COVID-19 is a bit different from what this may imply. COVID-19 reminds us - human beings - that, after all, we are still biological beings, part of biological evolution, members of the family of life and embedded in the biosphere. Technological control has changed a lot, but it hasn't changed that - at least not principally.
The life we have is part of nature itself and why would nature need it? As far as climate change is concerned it is not due to climate change as this virus is affecting in all the environments from Russia to Australia. Therefore we should avoid connecting each and everything to climate change. I would support James R Knaub and would also like to add that climate change is not always bad as most of the people think for example rising temperature may be a blessing for the people living in areas where the temperature goes below freezing point in winters as well as there are many studies where we see that new crops which were not possible earlier are now being grown in new areas for example search for apple crops in Himanchal. Further scientists have not yet confirmed that this virus doesn't survive in higher temperature (as it has mutation too) and we have seen the same case in countries facing summer now-a-days it is still affecting. I think we should wait for more details first before coming to any conclusion and stop connecting it to climate change.
Well, there seems to be a connection between death ratios and air pollution. Atmospheric Aerosols, mainly from fossil fuel combustion, are linked with higher ratios of lung disease in many countries. Several studies published in the last years have confirmed that. COVID-19 seems to be more deadly where lung disease is more widespread. Part of that may be attributable to health systems. Part of it to air pollution (aerosols). We'll see what studies will show after the crisis... But in any case: No surprise that climate connects with almost everything! It is universal, meaning it is everywhere, but it isn't everywhere the same. The atmosphere isn't everywhere the same. But we depend on it vitally, no matter where we are on earth. So, there you have it. It's a mess!
