Purely logically, I can not think of a single valid reason why we should not meet those people "out there". The basic assumption is that we look for them long enough and hard enough, where " long enough" may mean a billion years.. If your question means "will we meet them in our lifetime"...my answer is " I doubt.."
I am inclined to agree that the distances involved make it very unlikely we will ever get to meet our galactic neighbours. It is unlikely that intelligent life exists within even 20 light years of earth and that distance is prohibitive even if we could travel at the speed of light.
I would love to believe we will find a method of travelling these vast distances within and operable time frame but the would mean we had got the last of physics so wrong that it would be improbable that we had got this far in scientific discovery.
We may however hear from them. The message will be a very old one and we are unlikely to be able to hold a conversation but the discovery itself of an intelligent life form will rank as one of the greatest milestones in the history of mankind.
Is there any possibility an ant from a nest in Greece meet an ant from a nest in USA ?
Yes if someone take the greek-ant put it in a box and send it to USA and another man put it in the USA's nest.
So we need some type of meta-laws of physics. May be when understand the laws of gravity which plays a mayor role in the universe level we can communicate some how with another nest of another specie in universe.
“Will we ever meet our interstellar neighbours?" – if some neighbours exist – that is possible; however here a problem exists also – till what distances some “extraterrestrial sapienses” are neighbours?
If that is up to, say 100 light years – then seems here aren’t principally non-resolved problems – for example here could be some exchange by some information by using, e.g., EM/laser methods.
But a “physical contact” seems as not too reasonable because of the necessity to spend non- reasonable energy to contact.
However that above is true if a human remains in Matter and uses material ways to obtain energy and to transform it into the motion with necessary – very large – speed.
But Matter is only a specific informational structure, a sub-Set in the absolutely infinite “Information” Set. Besides Matter in the Set there exist other - non material – structures, for example on Earth – that are humans’ consciousnesses. And such structures, rather probably, can move/ exchange by information in the Set “non-materially”, i.e., can operate outside Matter and Its concrete spacetime.
The human’s consciousness, as that seems rather reasonable if we consider the life’s evolution on Earth, isn’t a last sate/stage of this evolution; so, extrapolating the observed now life evolution process, one seems can expect the appearance of some new abilities for “next humans” to walk through the Set. It is not impossible in this case of meetings with some other conscious creations.
Let’s wait?

I think these creatures are living with us. But we are not able to understand them. When we can not understand ourselves. What do you expect us to understand non-human creatures. Our thoughts are strongly influenced by my father's birthplace and religion.
Western people think they are the best of Eastern and why should they believe insulted.
This is the name of freedom of speech!Eastern people think that their religion is better because they can kill their opponents! I'm afraid of people who consider themselves superior.Religion and freedom of expression can not be a reason to deny other people.
The laws of physics do not exclude "time travel" somehow "bending" gravity effects for long space travel.
I think there is plenty of evidence that alien life has been around always, even before humans appeared. Starting with the Old Testament; events cannot be proven, but the events are not exactly Mickey Mouse or Snow White and the seven dwarfs.
The astronauts have the evidence and the pictures notwithstanding poor-taste denials by Nasa. There are no weather balloons on the moon or Mars! Another hard evidence is the "Bob White object' that was analyzed, before it "disappeared".
That is why about 70% of Americans believe on extra-terrestrial life now. Most scientists avoid the subject, because they are afraid of the ridicule they may become if they talk about it. However, some are already studying it for years.
