The world is changing and humans are the main reason for the change. Because of human activity, we are heading into the sixth mass extinction. The human population is growing very fast and now if we take any radical step then the whole system will collapse. Though for Wildlife conservation we need to make bold steps.
So how successful we will be in wildlife conservation?
Yes... Definitely but for that some strict actions should be taken against the culprits and the most which I feel is that as much as we can create awareness among the mass we should do.
Finally we should spread the slogan #SaveBiodiverstiySaveOurself
Everything in the world is relative. In some areas, wildlife has almost disappeared due to overpopulation and the lack of necessary measures to protect the environment.
Others, such as in Russia, have preserved vast wild territories where no human foot has set foot due to the demographic crisis. Grandiose projects are being created for the development and settlement of Siberia, the Far East and the Far North.
I think that with the right scientific approach to environmental problems, nothing terrible will happen and wildlife will be sufficiently preserved. And why else are countless environmentalists and conservationists well funded?

Why worry? We are getting problems of over-conservation wrt limited land assigned for conservation. There is over population of wild life so human conflicts are rising- elephants, tiger, leopard, antelops, wild boars are raising crops, harming livestock, even human lives. There is need to conduct carrying capacity study of protected areas & relocate excess wild animal population to suitable habitat! This change is in the past 20 years when hunting stopped & also forest felling, aided by tree planting resulting in 25% increase in the national tree cover from 19% to 24%,starting with Hon. Prime Minister of India @Rajiv Gandhi ji's campaign!
Rightly mentioned as no management is the best form of natural resources management including wildlife. Maintaining its originality, evolution, extinction are natural phenomena and are beyond our control,
but we can delay the process by implementing the conservation program and action with are framed on sustainable development policy and leadership.
Extinction is natural process, it is getting faster. To avoid extinction of threatened animals or plants human should not destroy habitats, avoid pollution and conduct research to learn more behavioral, genetics and conservation ways. Also, should stop illegal hunting.
Humans started their negative impact on Earth ecology by killing megafauna at least tens of thousands of years ago. That nature offensive by Homo Sapiens continued on an increasing scale. The so-called sixth extinction induced by humans is in progress.
Wildlife Conservation is important. However, it will not succeed in the long run if the natural habitat of wildlife in question will not return to what it was before humanity started its offensive on Nature.
The other problem is that humanity made the world much more interconnected than before humans. That causes a much faster spread across the globe multiple negative changes in local environments. An example is the current Covid-19 pandemic. Any sustainable wildlife conservation should be implemented as a unified policy on a global scale. In the last 44 thousand years, humanity was never united, and so far is not up to global challenges.

That problem exists in democratic, to some degree, countries. In non-democratic countries, the rulers do not care much about solving global problems too.

According to forbes, This year's report showed concerning trends. 68% of vertebrate population has been lost in the last 50 years. But the good news is that we humans can change this trend. Conservation efforts have been shown to work.
