I have done some experiment, APTES functionalized glass substrate and then I have deposite 30 nm size gold nano particles on APTES@glass. I want know if the AuNPs@glass heated at 120 degree Celsius (autoclave) for 30 min. Is there any morphology chances or aggregation of nanoparticles on glass. Is there other way to sterilize glass which is coated with AuNPs?
Au NPs are know to reshape due to thermal treatment, especially when dealing with anisotropic ones (Magnusson et al. , J. Nanop. Res. 1999, Mohamed et al. J. Phys. B 1998 and Link et al. J. Phys. Chem. B 2000 if you need some references). Nonetheless the presence of the substrates seems to confer a higher thermal stability. I think that the fastest way to know if your substrates are damaged is an SEM analysis before and after the treatment.
