There are reports which suggest that farmers in Punjab and Haryana have very high dependency on migrant labours for transplanting the Paddy. Will absence of labour lead to any change in cropping pattern?

The area under Cotton has compartively increased this year as compared to last year because of shortage of labour. Hence, it is likely that the cropping pattern of such area will change from the existing pattern if the cotton crop gives a good yield and fetches a remunerative price.
