It worked really well for simple and complex fluids including colloidal suspensions, polymer melts etc. I am just wondering will it give the similar quantitative relaxation time scale for solid amorphous polymers since their structural relaxation take really long time.
How long?
The intermediate function is the typical output of neutron spin-echo (NSE) experiments and, as to my experience, the spanned timescales depend on the instrument you're making use of: for example, hundreds picoseconds up to tens nanoseconds for IN11 (ILL) or nanoseconds up to microseconds for IN15 (ILL).
Heard about some old NSE investigation on polymeric glass formers (polybutadiene) some time ago, so the technique could suit your purposes, at least if you don't need high Q-resolution.
