Indian earthen clay pot (matka) cool the water (without external agency) as compare to higher atmospheric temperature i.e. it work as refrigerator without using external machine.
All aware with the mechanism of cooling water inside the matka. My question is related to the failure of second low of thermodynamics????
The "laws" of nature are observational laws. That is, the only "proof" that they are laws is that no one has ever observed the law being violated. That said, there is always the infinitesimally remote possibility that such a violation could occur and be observed. In your case, as far as the second law is concerned, it is far more likely that you are overlooking some aspect of the "experiment" you vaguely describe. One explanation that immediately comes to mind is some type of endothermic reaction between the clay and water such that a bit of cooling occurs as heat is removed from the water to power the reaction.
It also may be that some of the water seeps through the clay to the outside of the pot, where it evaporates, leading to cooling..just like a person sweating.
