The Expo 2020 is intended to create a commercial interest in the region rather than a research interest. Having said that, a greater access to funds would enable the local research institutions to fund more projects and that would create more research positions, but not significantly. Independent researchers can use the opportunity to study the changes in the socioeconomic environment resulting from the Expo 2020.
