Don't we see in every day academic curriculum that the students who are only good in making higher grades rarely present any creative solutions to existing problems.
I agree with the point being made by Francisco. Many teachers/academics reward students, via higher grades, for displaying creativity and deeper thinking in their answers and/or assignments.
Creativity is not bound to grades the same way, the way every science student does not become a scientist, every social science student does not believe in social values, every humanity student doesn't rate each human being alike.
We have educational systems which are very reproductive. But using your small academic freedom you can to reward the creativity and the critical thinking of your students.

Yes , It should not be. Good grade has nothing to do with creativity. In most of the cases, that I have seen good grades are obtained by rote memory. Creative thing is a matter of mind.
Yes rote memory seems to be the reason many students get good grades without using critical thinking skills which require creativity. This is one of issues in education...when is rote memory useful and when does critical thinking skills and creativity need to be implemented? Many parents I'm sure would prefer a child that learns things rote memory as they did. But is this really allowing the student to use their critical thinking and creative skills to learn?
Most students can memorize information. However, not all are creative perhaps due not being allowed to express or explore it during school or at home. There does need to be a way for creative and critical thinking to bolster normative rote learning. How can we perpetuate this without offending higher academics?
as a student i agree with the fact that we are really not creative rather we are just memorising and then we pass and eventually we forget everything .of which is costing us so much we are facing interviews because we get stage fright due to lack of confidence on the knowlege we has memorised............even English is giving us a problem
There is a whole hidden theory of links (Preparation for work-Professional satisfaction-Quality of professional teaching service). Research on teaching does not sufficiently address the ethological bases of professional performance.
Sometimes we give good marks to the margin of justice, since only works, in this case, an average budget of individual satisfaction of the professional.
Factual information is much easier to test and grade. But teachers need to give assignments that DO require critical thinking and higher order thinking skills, not just memorization of facts.
