In case of inverting glycosyltransferase, when I use D-alpha-sugar as donor substrate than the sugar conjugation to substrate is in beta-configuration but when I use L-alpha-sugar as donor than I still get the alpha-configured glycoconjugate?

For example, while using UDP-D-alpha-glucose than the product will be beta-configured glycoconjugate but when I use dTDP-L-alpha-rhamnose than the product I get was alpha-configured glycoconjugate.

In this case if the enzyme is inverting than I should have beta-glycoconjugate as product. Can some body help me to solve this problem?

I am expecting answers with references.
