The journals are not concern what is written in paper. They are much concern who has written.
I can confirm this, I recently had a problem with a reviewer because of this reasons only.
Dr. George Stoica I agree with you in case the Area Editors are not Biased. After the review process Editors are deciding upon the selction or rejection.
Unfortunately, the affiliation is very important, I personally experienced such behavior for one of my best publications.
To avoid reviewer's biased in the evaluation of papers, submit only to journals that are strictly practicing double blind peer review process. If the editor who receive your paper is the one who is biased, we can not do anything about your submission, just don't submit anymore in the future.
I do suggest the same, do not submit to the journals where you feel that the editor is biased.
I was not event aware about such a behavior among scientific community.
