I am synthesizing by RAFT polymerization. So i prepared the Macro-CTA and i used 4- Cyano- 4- (phenylcarbonothioylthio) pentanoic acid (a.k.a CTP) as raft agent. As they you know, that color is pink. But the color turned into pale yellow. So i am wondering why the color changed...
because of the transition of electrons in the new compound formed (product polymer)

Thank you for answering. Then if that just is because of transition electrons, can i use the Macro-CTA?
It seems that you degrade your RAFT agent. The colour should stay pink during the process and vanish only if you degrade or cleave the RAFT agent end-chains and purify.
