I'm working on electrospun nano fibers using PLA-PEG-PLA triblock polymer. I tried to perform DSC analysis for the characterization of the fiber mat. however there is a large hook at the beginning of the curve and broad exothermic peak without melting signal could be observed on DSC graph. starting temperature was 25 ℃ with heating rate of 10 ℃/min to 250℃. can you give me your advice how to fix this problem?

In general, for polymers, a temperature and an enthalpy of fusion appear only when the polymer is semi-crystalline. This corresponds to the fusion of the crystalline zones. The absence of the melting peak is an indication that your PLA-PEG-PLA copolymer is amorphous, the PLA blocks could prevent PEG crystallization.

Dear all, check the thermal stability limit for all components of the copolymer. I think thermal degradation (depolymerization) occured at such a broad range of temperatures. My Regards
It depends what you mean by characterization. It's likely that this broad peak is characteristic of the nanofibers in their as-spun form. If you run a thermal cycle, you should be able to obtain a clearer idea of the crystallization behavior, but you will have already melted any crystalline domains that were present at spinning.
