System of Rice Intensification(SRI) was well proposed agenda under water conservation practices under paddy cultivation. However the cold response of farmer badly effected this interesting technique. Apart of labour intensification (although cheap labour availability is widespread) it fails. Why??
Unlike most current agricultural technologies, SRI is not based on material inputs. Instead, it involves mostly mental changes and new thinking. Also, SRI is a work in progress, continuing to evolve. Promoting something as technology makes the innovation seem static, with farmers becoming adopters rather than adapters. SRI emphasizes adaptation and continuing improvement by farmers and others.

Unskilled labour and unawareness of farmers about the area suitable for adopting this method are the major reasons. However, the results are excellent in suitable areas. There is a need for GIS mapping to identify the areas suitable for this method, accordingly we can popularise
