There are lots of elements in nature, but when we are looking at the literature related to heat transfer, both single-phase and two-phase, mostly we can see heat transfer experimental researches of Al2O3 mixed in water or other base fluids. Why? What is the specialty of these nanoparticles?
P.S. There are other nanoparticles also, such as TiO2, Cu, CuO etc but Al2O3 is the most popular nanoparticle beside TiO2.

Maybe that is one of the reasons, but not the only one.
For example for using TiO2 nanoparticles there are a few good reasons but it is not clear for me, using of Alumina nanoparticles.
I am still searching the reasons :)

expect from price (an important factor), you can consider solubility in water and any concentration as well as environmental problem. for example we are not allowed to leave the waste of Au, Ag, Ti and... to the environment without treatment.

Using Al2O3 nanoparticles is advantageous because:
1) Price of these nanoparticles are very low wrt other ones.
2) Waste management is much more easier in comparison to others, such as Au, Ag, Ti etc.
