Hello, I tried to synthesize the PGSA with triethylamine, but it was crosslinked within 7 hours during the reaction. Triethylamine is equimolar to acryloyl chloride and they were dropwise added into reaction under ice bath. Then the reaction was put in room temperature with stirring. After several hours, crosslinking happened to yield a transparent gel.

Did you make sure that no light will meet the reaction mass? In case of light it leads to radical polimerization. You may avoid by adding 0.01 to 0.2 % b w of hydroquinone or similar radical "catchers".
