Whenever I ask this question to my colleagues, they are replying that the metallic losses will increase at higher frequencies and so patch antenna efficiency is very less. Hence, they are replacing by DRA which don't have metallic losses.

My Question: The above explanation is the right reason or not?

If the above one is right, then please give me the mathematical relation between the metallic losses and frequency.

If there are any other reasons to WHY patch antenna not works at higher frequencies, please mention the reasons.

It will be very helpful for me if you share your knowledge on this.

Thanks.
